Home My WebLink About20102099.tiff RESOLUTION RE: EXTENSION OF REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 62 BETWEEN COUNTY ROAD 43 AND NORTH 1ST AVENUE FOR AN ADDITION 25 WORKING DAYS, FOR SECOND PHASE OF MAIN SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT FOR JBS USA, LLC, FKA SWIFT AND COMPANY WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.: "...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of the traffic affected...", and WHEREAS, on August 23, 2010, by Resolution #2010-1939, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations, determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting signs thereon, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an extension request for the temporary closure to remain in effect until October 15, 2010, for an additional 25 working days. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to continue with the regulation, warning and guiding of vehicular traffic on County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the continued posting of such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish that the temporary closure of County Road 62, between County Road 43 and North 1st Avenue, be extended, with said extended closure being effective September 10, 2010,for approximately twenty-five working days, for the second phase of the main sewer line replacement for JBS USA, LLC, fka Swift and Company, and further,that standard official traffic control devices shall remain erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
