COLORADO SUBJECT: 2010 Message Sign Board Bid, B1000064
The Public Works Department recommends that the Board of County Commissioners accept the low bid
from Northern Colorado Traffic Control for two message sign boards at a cost of$6,300 each or$12,600
for two.
Dean Dreher, Pavement Management Supervisor, spoke to the manufacturer about the unit and found no
reason to question the bid. He also spoke with organizations in southern California and in Colorado that
use this product and found no problems.
There is a large difference between the high and low bids which might raise concerns. However, after
researching the vendor, we can find no reason to not accept the low bid.
There is $24,000 budgeted for this purchase.
