RE: AmUSR-1253 (The Animal Sanctuary)
This letter regards my concern about the existing use and/or expansion of The Animal
Sanctuary regarding public safety; sound nuisance and negative site appearance of said
operation. I own approximately 400 acres which border subject property to the west, I would
ask the County to restrict and or minimize any expansion and/or that the applicant provide a
type of exterior landscape buffer. Said buffer would provide bush/tree combination on
elevated hill/fill. The high fencing and animal tree house appearance is unsightly. This is a
rural area with a mixture of residential, farming and oil and gas activity.
This operator continues to ask, beg and attain funds from many sources including, myself in the
past,to "keep the operation" alive, and has succeeded. With this said, the minimum this
operation should provide due to its "white elephant" appearance and cause, no pun intended,
would be to lessen the negative impact on neighboring property owners and insure safety,
• appearance and site is at the upmost importance. Furthermore, the County needs to insure
appropriate measures/e and monitoring is in place to enforce said conditions.Retgauf Glen S. Douthit
