RE: APPROVE AND ADOPT LOGO FOR USE BY DEPARTMENTS OF WELD COUNTY
GOVERNMENT TO CELEBRATE WELD COUNTY'S SESQUICENTENNIAL
(150TH ANNIVERSARY)
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, 2011 marks the 150th anniversary (Sesquicentennial) of the establishment
of Weld County in 1861 as one of Colorado's original 16 territorial counties, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has planned a year of celebrations to
mark the occasion of the County's Sesquicentennial, and
WHEREAS, a unique logo, a copy of which is attached to the Resolution as Exhibit "A,"
when affixed to County correspondence, forms and promotional materials that is computer
generated (not preprinted), will serve as a way to highlight the importance of the County's
Sesquicentennial, and
WHEREAS, this logo will serve as an easily identifiable symbol for all things related to
the County's Sesquicentennial, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners believes this logo reflects the spirit of
the County's Sesquicentennial and desires to approve and adopt it as the official logo for use by
Weld County Departments to be affixed to County correspondence, forms and promotional
materials that is computer generated (not preprinted).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the logo which is attached to this Resolution as Exhibit "A," reflects
the spirit of Weld County's Sesquicentennial and it be, and hereby is, approved and adopted as
the official logo for use by Weld County Departments to be affixed to County correspondence,
forms and promotional materials that is computer generated (not preprinted).
