RE: AWARDING CONTRACT FOR ADVERTISING FOR REMAINDER OF
THE YEAR, 1976.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of
County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that the Greeley
Booster, published in Greeley, Colorado, be, and it hereby is
designated as the official newspaper for the publication of
the proceedings of the Board of County Commissioners and County
Welfare Board and for the publication of legal notices required
by law to be published by the various Weld County officials with
the reservations contained in the following paragraphs and upon
the following terms:
Legal notices, solid nonpareil, single column measure,
first insertion $1. 20 per inch; each subsequent inser-
tion $1 . 08 per inch;
Publishing proceedings of County Commissioners and
County Welfare Board, solid nonpareil, single column
measure, one insertion price per inch, $1 . 20;
Publishing of semi-annual financial statement furnished
Board by County Treasurer , to be published within 60
days following June 30 and December 31, 1976, solid non-
pareil, single column measure, one insertion price per
inch S1. 20;
Publishing delinquent tax list from computer printout
photocopy supplied by County Treasurer, solid nonpareil,
single column measure, the actual cost of the fee for
publication of each description of lots or tracts of
land in the delinquent tax list computed at: first
insertion price per inch $1. 20 ; each subsequent inser-
tion price per inch $1 . 08 ;
All other notices required to be published by the various
county officials to be run in the Greeley Booster at the
rate of $1. 20 per single column inch for the first inser-
tion; each subsequent insertion $1. 08 per inch; all no-
tices to be set in solid nonpareil type;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the right is reserved to
advertise Request for Treasurer' s Deeds on behalf of Weld County
in the local papers of the community in which the property is
described and situated, when the cost of said advertisement does
not exceed the rates of such advertising set forth in this contract,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that the paper awarded the contract
for said advertising shall furnish the County Commissioners with
a copy of each publication thereof during the life of this contract;
also, shall furnish 100 extra copies of such issues which contain
the first publication of the delinquent tax list and as many more
copies as the County Treasurer may require; provided, if the taxes
on any lot or tract of land shall be paid between the date of delivery
of the list to such newspaper and the date of first publication of
such list, then such lot or tract of land shall be omitted from the
published list and the actual charge which shall be only $2. 50 penalty
charge by the County Treasurer upon such omitted lots and tracts,
respectively, shall be included as a part of the cost of publication
of such list, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the contract is hereby
awarded to the said Greeley Booster pursuant to the terms of
the bid with the understanding that prices for the publication
and advertising not specifically mentioned in this bid will be
determined by getting bids on these items from local newspapers
as the need arises, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a satisfactory bond,
subject to the approval of the Board of County Commissioners ,
may be required of the paper obtaining the contract for said
advertising, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that the Board of County Com-
missioners may consider the use of other news media as additional
methods of informing the citizens of certain official acts, events,
determinations, proceedings or meetings , pursuant to Section 16-6
of the Weld County Home Rule Charter, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that this contract shall become
effective forthwith; and that the Board reserves the right to
terminate this contract at any time.
The above and foregoing resolution was, on motion duly
made and seconded, adopted by the following vote this 22nd
day of March, A. D. , 1976.

MEMORANDUM
TO: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
FROM: CLERK TO THE BOARD
SUBJECT: PUBLICATIONS IN LEGAL NEWSPAPERS
We wish to inform you of our deadline for publications in
the Greeley Booster.
Under our former requirements, we could submit items to the
Greeley Journal by noon on Wednesdays for Friday issues. This
allowed publishing action from Wednesday Board meetings in
Friday' s edition.
However, Mr. Walling has notified us that to be in the Friday
issue of the Booster, items must be to them by 5 : 00 Tuesday.
Therefore, any action from Wednesday meetings will not be
published until the following week.
