RESOLUTION
RE: REGULATION OF SPEED IN THE UNINCORPORATED TOWN ON
LUCERNE, WELD COUNTY, COLORADO,
WHEREAS, a multitude of complaints have been made to the Board
of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that motor vehicles
habitually are being driven at speeds greater than is reasonable and pur-
dent along those parts of said highways, being in Lucerne, an unincorporated
town in Weld County, Colorado, and all intersections of streets and roads
therewith.
WHEREAS, said Board is authorized by the statutes of the State of
Colorado to regulate the speed of vehicles, and
WHEREAS, said Board, pursuant to such complaints, has deter-
mined upon the basis of engineering, traffic investigations and a special
speed survey, that any speed along or over said portion of said roads or
roadways, and all intersections of other roads therewith, in excess of the
following, to-wit:
Eastbound Traffic:
From the Union Pacific Railroad to County road No. 39 on Olive
Street-15 miles per hour;
From the Union Pacific Railroad to County road No. 39 on Maple
Street-15 miles per hour;
From the Union Pacific Railroad to County road No. 39 on Elm
Street-15 miles per hour;
Westbound Traffic:
From the intersection of Olive Street and County road No. 39, to
the Union Pacific Railroad, on Olive Street-15 miles per hour;
From the intersection of Maple Street and County road No. 39 to
the Union Pacific Railroad, on Maple Street-15 miles per hour;
From the intersection of Elm Street and County road No. 39 to
the Union Pacific Railroad, on Elm Street-15 miles per hour.
Northbound Traffic:
From the intersection of Colorado State Highway No. 392 and that
portion of traveled roadway along the East side of the Union Pacific
Railroad tracks to the intersection of Olive Street, along the East
side of the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way-15 miles per hour;
From the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Colorado State High-
way No. 392, on Lincoln Avenue to its intersection with Maple
Street-15 miles per hour.
Southbound Traffic:
From the intersection of that portion of traveled roadway along the
East side of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and Olive Street,
along said traveled roadway along the East side of the Union Pacific
Railroad tracks to its intersection with Colorado State Highway No.
392-15 miles per hour;

From the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Maple Street, on
Lincoln Avenue, to its intersection with Colorado State Highway
No. 392-15 miles per hour;
is excessive and is greater than is reasonable, safe or prudent under the
conditions that exist.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County
Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that no motor vehicle shall be
driven on, over or along any portion, or portions, of said road or high-
ways, or at or across, or at the entrance to, any intersection of any other
street, road or highway therewith, at a speed in excess of the following,
to-wit:
Eastbound Traffic:
From the Union Pacific Railroad to County road No. 39 on Olive
Street-15 miles per hour;
From the Union Pacific Railroad to County road No. 39 on Maple
Street-15 miles per hour;
From the Union Pacific Railroad to County road No. 39 on Elm
Street-15 miles per hour;
Westbound Traffic:
From the intersection of Olive Street and County road No. 39 to
the Union Pacific Railroad, on Olive Street-15 miles per hour;
From the intersection of Maple Street and County road No. 39
to the Union Pacific Railroad, on Maple Street-15 miles per hour;
From the intersection of Elm Street and County road No. 39 to
the Union Pacific Railroad, on Elm Street-15 miles per hour.
Northbound Traffic:
From the intersection of Colorado State Highway No. 392 and that
portion of traveled roadway along the East side of the Union Pacific
Railroad tracks to the intersection of Olive Street, along the East
side of the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way-15 miles per hour;
From the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Colorado State High-
way No. 392, on Lincoln Avenue to its intersection with Maple
Street-15 miles per hour.
Southbound Traffic:
From the intersection of that portion of traveled raodway along the
East side of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and Olive Street,
along said traveled roadway along the East side of the Union Pacific
Railroad tracks to its intersection with Colorado State Highway No.
392-15 miles per hour;
From the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Maple Street, on
Lincoln Avenue, to its intersection with Colorado State Highway
No. 392-15 miles per hour;
and that any speed in excess of the aforementioned speed limits, and the
driving of any vehicles at any speed in excess of said limits, as aforementioned,
thereon or thereat, shall be prima facie evidence that said speed is not
reasonable, safe or prudent, and that it is unlawful.
The above and foregoingResolution was, on motion duly made and
seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 26th day of November,
A.D. , 1975.
