RE: ESTABLISHMENT OF 1980 URBAN AREA BOUNDARY FOR
GREELEY, COLORADO AND SURROUNDING AREA.
WHEREAS, pursuant to law, the Board of County Commissioners,
Weld County, Colorado, is vested with the responsibility of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the 1973 Federal-Aid Highway Act, the
procedure for establishing boundaries for urban areas of over 5000
population has been modified, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that it would be desirous
and in the best interest of the County to properly define and
establish the City of Greeley, Colorado urban area, thus providing
increased flexibility to various federally aided highway programs
having direct reference to said urban area, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the newly modified procedure the
City of Greeley, Colorado, urban area has been determined to have a
population of 38, 902, more or less, per Bureau of Census figures,
and a population of 54, 130, more or less, according to the 1975
estimates, all as shown within the designated boundaries of the
City of Greeley and its urban boundaries, per copies of maps marked
"Exhibit A, Al, and A2" , (Greeley and Surrounding Area 1980 Urban
Area Boundary dated September 2, 1975) , and made a part hereof by
reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County
Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that the urban area boundary
maps of the City of Greeley, Colorado urban area hereinabove referred
to as, "Exhibit, A, Al, and A2" , "Greeley and Surrounding Area 1980
Boundary" dated September 2, 1975, be, and the same is hereby
approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 31st day of
December, A.D. , 1975.

Dear Sirs:
I have enclosed one set of the following maps for the Greeley
Urban Area:
1. 1980 Urban Boundary for the Greeley Urban Area with
narrative description attached.
2. 1980 Functional Classification of Streets.
3. 1980 Connecting Links for Rural Arterials.
A resolution of approval for the Urban Boundary Map from the
Board of Commissioners is requested. The resolution should be
referenced to the map by name and date. The approval of the other
entities within the Greeley Urban Boundary will be obtained as well.
The Classification and Connecting Link Maps are for the County's
information only and do not require approval. The above maps will
be submitted to the Federal Highway Administration upon receipt
of the above resolutions and will become effective on July 1, 1976.

Glenn asked Richard Straub to review the enclosed material
and now would like you to draw up a resolution.
Richard finds no changes necessary in the map. However,
he pulled the resolution drawn in December 1973 when he
was discussing the matter with Mr. Touslee of the State
Department of Highways and Mr. Touslee suggested the
following changes:
the title be changed to ESTABLISHMENT OF 1980
URBAN AREA BOUNDARY FOR GREELEY, COLORADO AND
SURROUNDING AREA,
2) in the 4th and 5th paragraphs the words "Exhibit A"
be changed to "Greeley and Surrounding Area 1980
Urban Area Boundary Dated September 2, 1975",
3) the resolution be prepared for signing at the
Jan. 7 Board Meeting.
Richard questioned the population figures in paragraph
4 so I checked with the Planning Department.
Bureau of Census figures for the City of Greeley are
38,902 according to 1970 figures and
54,130 according to 1975 estimates
