Please be advised that on August 27, 2010, Lafarge West, Inc., whose address and telephone number are 10170
Church Ranch Way, Ste. 200 , Westminster, CO 80021; (303) 657-4579, submitted a request for partial acreage
release for the Stromquist Pit, Permit No. M-1983-031. The construction materials extraction operation is located at
or near Section 20, Township 2N, Range 68W, 06th Prime Meridian, in Weld County.
Written comments or objections to the release may be submitted to, and additional information obtained from, the
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-
3567. Comments or objections should be submitted as soon as possible. The Division is required to wait 30 days after
the release decision is made to allow for comments or objections.

RE: M1983-031,Acreage Reduction for the Stromquist Pit }�
Dear Mr.Ebert,
Lafarge would like to request an Acreage Reduction from 271 +/- acres to 163.3 acres. Lafarge
•
requests an acreage reduction to the permit and a reduction to our performance and financial
warranty per the remaining areas illustrated on the attached map. We submit this in accordance
with Rule 4.17 of the Construction Materials Rules and Regulations. The property within the
permit boundary for which the release is requested is owned by:

Those portions of the permit remaining are illustrated on the attached map. All internal lakes and

has been reclaimed according to the Reclamation Plan and subsequent Technical Revisions.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
Description of a parcel of land located in Sections 20 and
21 of T2N, R68W of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado, being more
particularly described as follows:
Section 20: the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter
and the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter.
Section 21: that part of the South Half of the North Half
and that part of the North Half of the Southwest Quarter all
lying West of County Road 5 which runs in a Northeasterly South-
westerly direction except the Right-of-Way of said County Road
5, except the Right-of-Way of the Burlington Northern Railroad,
and except that tract conveyed to the Great Western Sugar Company
by Deed recorded in Book 429 at Page 583 of the Weld County records.
The above described parcel of land in Sections 20 and 21
together contains 271 acres more or less.
