Office of Borad of County Commissioners

Re: Weld Human Services Committee
Dear Mr. Carlson:
It is with sincere regret that I must inform you that I hereby resign
my position as a member of the Weld Human Services Committee effective at
the conclusion of our meeting on Thursday, August 10, 1978. My wife's
educational and professional needs require that we move to Denver late this
summer. I shall be leaving the Greeley office of Colorado Rural Legal
Services for at least a year or two. I firmly believe that it is in the
interest of the Committee that I resign my position sufficiently far in
advance to allow for the selection of a replacement on the Committee with-
out undue delay or hardship. In that Mr. Henry C. Frey will be succeeding
me as Supervisory Attorney with the Greeley office of Colorado Rural Legal
Services, I would hope that the County Commissioners would see fit to ap-
point him in my place as a representative of our organization on the Weld
Human Services Committee.
It has been a genuine pleasure to work with you, your predecessors and
all past and present fellow members of the Committee. I have found my
association with the Committee rewarding and helpful. It has provided a
necessary vehicle for the closer coordination and understanding of the
various agencies which attempt to meet the human needs in our community. I
think it is important to our agency and to the Committee that C.R.L.S. be
allowed to continue its active participation in the A-95 review process and,
possibly more importantly, in the clearinghouse function and in the sharing
of information concerning our programs and agencies which the Committee
provides. I trust that C.R.L.S. will be allowed to continue its role on the
Committee by the appointment of Mr. Frey to fill the vacancy created by my
necessary resignation.
I have no doubt that the Committee will continue its fine work and will
increase its important function of coordinating human services and allowing
for the sharing of agency information. If I can be of any further assistance

in your efforts to insure the continued and increased quality of human
services delivered to the Weld County community, consistent with my
necessarily increased physical separation, please feel free to call on
me.
Thank you and best of luck.
Respectfully,
