Dear Commissioner Billings:
Enclosed you will find a copy of a petition, signed by Weld County
residents in a two—mile band north of Union Reservoir and east of
County Line Road, for moving the Platte River Power Authority high
tension line into Boulder County, in particular along the Colorado
and Southern Railroad. As you can see, there are a lot of people in
Weld County who do not feel that this power line should run through
the middle of sections in Weld County when the primary destination
of the line is Longmont in Boulder County. For some unknown reason
the Power Authority has chosen a route which for the last two miles
is in the most populated area on an east-west line from Longmont to
the Kansas border. There are 47 private homes in an area less than
a square mile.
We would be most grateful if you would take our deep concern under
advisement and consider the best interests of your constituents.
