WELD COUNTY COUNCIL
January 17, 2011

The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with the Weld County
Home Rule Charter, Monday, January 17, 2011, 6:30 p.m. at the Weld County Centennial
Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley, CO.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by Vice President Don Mueller,
Councilwoman Ginny Buczek, Councilmen Charles Tucker and John Kivimaki were
present, constituting a quorum of the members. Councilwoman Buck was excused. Also
present was Colette West, Asad Abdi and Karla Ford, Council Secretary.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Councilman Kivimaki made a motion to approve the January 17, 2011 agenda. The
motion was seconded by Councilwoman Buczek and carried.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Colette West and Asad Abdi represent East Africa Community of Colorado. They help
serve new immigrants from east Africa to help with the language barrier and help
individuals integrate into the community. They meet at Cameron Elementary School in
Greeley. They came to introduce themselves and get familiar with the Weld County
Council. The council was invited to visit the center at any time. Councilman Mueller
appreciated the information presented.
2011 COUNCIL PRESIDENT ELECTION:
Council Vice President Mueller asked for nominations for 2011 Council President.
Councilman Kivimaki made a motion to nominate Councilman Mueller for 2011 Council
President. The motion was seconded by Councilman Tucker and carried.
2011 COUNCIL VICE PRESIDENT ELECTION:
Council President Mueller asked for nominations for 2011 Council Vice President.
Councilwoman Buczek made a motion to nominate Councilman Tucker to be the 2011
Council Vice President. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kivimaki and
carried.
APPROVAL OF DOCUMENTATION:
December 20, 2010 Minutes
Councilwoman Buczek made a motion to approve the December 20, 2010 minutes.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Kivimaki and carried.
2010 4th Quarter Report to the PeoP1e .
Councilman Kivimaki made a motion to approve the 2010 4th Quarter Report to the
People. The motion was seconded by Councilman Tuckersancklcafrieli c ::

Adopt Resolution 186
Councilman Kivimaki made a motion to adopt Weld County Resolution 186 requesting
the Weld County Council office move to the administration offices in 2011. The motion
was seconded by Councilman Tucker and carried.
Adopt Resolution 187
Councilwoman Buczek made a motion to adopt Resolution 187 that states the 2011
Weld County Council meetings be held on the third Monday of each month, except in
February 2011 when the meeting will be held on the fourth Monday. The meetings will
be held at 6:30 p.m. The motion was seconded by Councilman Tucker and carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
2011 Council Coordinators Assignments
The following Council Coordinator Assignments for 2011 are as follows:
Department of Finance and Administration — Councilman Mueller
Department of Health Services— Councilman Tucker
Department of Planning — Councilwoman Buck
Department of Public Works — Councilwoman Buczek
Department of Human Services — Councilman Kivimaki
2011 Weld County Council Locations
The council will meet at the Weld County Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley,
CO for its monthly meetings with the following exceptions: May 16, 2011 which will be
held at the Southwest Weld County Services Complex Building, 4209 WCR 24 '/z,
Longmont, CO; July 18, 2011 which will be held at the Keenesburg Town Hall, 140 S.
Main Street, Keenesburg, CO; and August 15, 2011 which will be held at the Pierce Fire
Department, 601 2nd Street, Pierce, CO.
2011 Council Review Programs and Meeting Planners
The following assignments were made for council meeting review planners:
Councilman Kivimaki: April 18th -Weld Assessor, June 20th —Weld County Sheriff,
November 21st —Weld County Human Services
Councilman Mueller: March 21st—Weld County Finance, December 19th — County
Commissioner 2011 Review
Councilwoman Buczek: February 28th —Weld County Transportation, May 16th —Weld
County Clerk & Recorder, September 19th —Weld County Budget
Councilwoman Buck: October 17th -ACS
Councilman Tucker: July 18th —Weld County Extension, August 15th — Emissions
Update

The secretary distributed current personal information from the webpage and requested
any updates be submitted by the end of February.
Coordinator Reports
Councilman Kivimaki, Councilman Tucker and Councilwoman Buczek attended the
Energy Workshop and the information presented was great.

Payment of Bills
Councilman Kivimaki made a motion for the bills to be paid as listed below:
Mileage for Councilwoman Ginny Buczek $ 63.21
Mileage for Councilman John Kivimaki $132.79
Mileage for Councilman Charles Tucker $ 37.24
The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Buczek and passed.
