Casey Short, Technical Representative, Ferguson Beauregard (PDC's automation company) provided me with a link for the path study that FreeWave Technologies provided (See Attached). Casey highlighted specific links in yellow that will require the USR-1780 PDC tower to be at the 100' level. According to Casey, the biggest issue that we have in this area, is interference from existing radios that operate in the 902-928 Mhz band. From Casey's experience, the links highlighted in yellow will not work at the 75' level due to all the interference. The other thing to keep in mind is future growth. By having the USR-1780 tower at the 100' level, we will have more coverage of our existing radios. We will also be able to have some of the existing radios shoot directly to the USR-1780 tower, that would not be able to at the 75' level. This will allow us to remove some of the existing repeaters, which, in turn, will eliminate some of the noise (i.e: interference) in the area. 2. I am still waiting to hear back from PDC Operations regarding your questions about the fencing. I will provide you with this information just as soon as I receive it. Dear Chris Gathman, My name is Thomas Schehr and I live directly across the street from the proposed 100 foot communication tower and I object to this proposal has it will further devalue the value of my house. First,I have the noise from the diesel engines. Second, there is the ugly view of the Petroleum Development Corporation tanks. Third, there is dust everywhere since the weeds were removed from the property. Now you want to hit me with a 100'communication tower. There are alternatives to using a 100 foot tower and I think they should be considered. Petroleum Development Corporation could use a high speed satellite connection for their data transfers over the intemet. This would only require a satellite dish the size of dishes presently installed on homes. Also, what is the output wattage from this tower and what negative effects may it have on my cell phone or radio reception or TV reception or wireless internet connection? We now have the following intemet services available in Johnstown: US Cable Internet, Qwest DSL intemet,Version Wireless internet,ATT Wireless internet, HughesNet satellite internet, and WildBlue satellite internet. All these companies have proven technology and the data could be sent over the Internet without this 100 foot tower. This tower will kill the home values west of the project in Pioneer Ridge. Also, the tress are only • located south of the tower. There was no landscaping done by Petroleum Development Corporation after completion of the gas wells and I assume the fence will be a high chain link fence which will not blend with the Pioneer Ridge Development. The emergency access only road if often used by heavy trucks now since it is a shortcut to CR17 and I assume there will be additional traffic with the tower maintenance workers using this shortcut. Other gas companies use the intemet without the 100 foot tower and something like this belongs in a heavy industrial zone not across the street from a residential zone. This tower will only add to the eyesore and I see there will not be any landscaping other than the dusty paths to the tower. Also, how high is the antenna which goes on top of the 100 foot tower? We often have flooding in Pioneer Ridge when the water runs west over CR17 and with the weeds removed and nothing to hold back the dirt from washing away the flooding potential will be worse than before. Please do not allow this 100 foot tower plus the antenna height be built close to a residential zone. The internet is an alternative to the tower.
