I I SUBJECT: 2011 Concrete/Washed Rock/Squeegee Bid

The Public Works Department recommends that the Board of County Commissioners award the
washed rock to LaFarge for northern Weld County at a price of$12.00 per ton and Aggregate
Industries for southern Weld County at a price of$9.25 per ton. LaFarge is the only vendor with a
plant in northern Weld County (Greeley). The plants listed for northern county for both Aggregate
Industries and L.G. Everist are located in Longmont.
The Public Works Department recommends that the bid for squeegee be awarded to LaFarge for
northern Weld County at a price of$3.75 per ton and L.G. Everist for southern Weld County at a price
of$1.70 per ton. The L.G. Everist plant for northern Weld County is located in Carr. The Aggregate
Industries plant for northern Weld County is in Longmont. The LaFarge plant for northern Weld
County is located in Greeley, which is centrally located.
The Public Works Department recommends that all concrete be awarded to Bestway Concrete, the
low bidder. The prices are: Class B for northern Weld County is $79.50 per yard; Class B for southern
Weld County is $76.50 per yard. Class D for northern Weld County is $82.50 per yard; Class D for
southern Weld County is $79.50 per yard. Flow Fill for northern Weld County is $54.00 per yard; Flow
Fill for southern Weld County is $51.00 per yard.
A total of$70,000 is budgeted for this purchase.
