SUBJECT: Recycling of aluminum cans
According to your Use by Special Review application submittal, one of the uses of the facility is
the purchase of aluminum cans from the public. Per Section 8 (Recycling) of the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Regulations pertaining to solid waste
sites and facilities (6 CCR 1007-2, Part 1), you are required to register as a recycling facility with
CDPHE and maintain volume records of amount of recyclables, and amount sent off-site.
Therefore, the following will be added to USR-1783 as a Development Standard:
The facility shall maintain registration as a recycling facility with the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment and comply with Section 8 (Recycling) of
the Regulations pertaining to solid waste sites and facilities (6 CCR 1007-2, Part 1).
