Box 758 Greeley, CO 80632 November 15, 2011 Dear Ms. Kirkmeyer, This letter is to inform you that 40 acres of state trust lands identified as Twp 9 North, Range 60 West, Section 36 (NWNW) and known as "Pawnee National Grasslands" Stewardship Trust parcel are being recommended for removal from the Stewardship Trust established by the State Board of Land Commissioners (hereinafter the State Land Board) pursuant to Article IX, Section 10(1)(b)(I) and C.R.S. 36-1-107.5. These lands were nominated for inclusion into the Stewardship Trust by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (now the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife) in March 1998 and designated by the State Land Board into the Stewardship Trust in December 1998. The Weld County Board of County Commissioners is being notified via certified mail of the recommended removal of these lands from the Stewardship Trust as the local governing body of this area. The State Land Board's Policy 2001-02 states that "when staff intends to recommend a Board action to remove lands from the Stewardship Trust, they shall send certified letters to all current lessees; the original nominator (if practicable); and the appropriate local, state and federal government agencies informing them of the proposed removal and inviting them to comment on the proposed action. " The State Land Board is recommending that this 40-acre tract of land be removed from the Stewardship Trust due to the proposed land-for-land exchange of the property with Mike and Peggy Schutt as part of the "Keota Land for Land Exchange". These lands will be replaced with other lands immediately adjacent to Section 36 as part of the exchange. Please note that this exchange will not affect the state trust lands containing the teepee rings and moss rock ridge containing dinosaur bones on Section 36; those lands will remain in the Stewardship Trust and still be owned by the State Land Board. If you have any comments or concerns about the removal of these lands from the Stewardship Trust, please submit your comments to my attention at the above address within 30 days of the receipt of this notice. Please contact me at(303) 866-3454 extension 3318 if you have any questions. Sincerely, 1/1„,/'t__L Mindy Gottseg n Stewardship Trust/Conservation Services Manager cc.
