RE: APPROVE REQUEST FOR PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT FROM POWER EQUIPMENT
COMPANY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a request for the purchase of certain
equipment, described within Exhibit A, by the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the
Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Public Works,from
Power Equipment Company, P.O. Box 28, Denver, Colorado 80201, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said request, a copy of
which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the request for the purchase of certain equipment,described within Exhibit A,
by the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Public Works, from Power Equipment Company, be,
and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 2nd day of March, A.D., 2011.

SUBJECT: Used Paver Purchase
Public Works will need to replace the road paver in 2012. They have found a used paver with
84 hours on it that will save the county 70K on the purchase price. In addition to that there are
several other factors that make this an offer that we think should be considered to make the
purchase now.
All the existing attachments will be usable on the used paver.
All parts will interexchange on the current to the used paver.
This is a Tier 3 engine. This will be the last year of Tier 3. The new engines with Tier 4 will
burn bio type fuel and less carbon fuel. This is what caused Weld County to bid all of the heavy
equipment early for 2011.
We do have the funds in Motor Pool to cover this purchase this year. I would recommend the
purchase as it will save the 70K plus any new attachments that would need to be purchased with the
new paver in 2012.
Proposals and specs for each are attached.
Please advise if you would like to have a work session, move forward with resolution to
purchase or you don't want to approve at all.
