Glenn K. Billings
Chairman, Weld County Commissioners
P. 0. Box 758
Greeley, Colorado 80631
Dear Mr. Billings:
We want to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to you,
Rita Kummer, Sandi and all the other people involved in helping in
our frustrating search to locate my mother's grave site in the Evans
cemetery, and in the restoring of the cemetery grounds.
We were so pleased to find that the ground had been leveled,
sodded and readied for the few markers to be replaced. It is our
understanding that a memorial marker has been ordered for the remaining
graves that seem to be unlocatable due to the loss of records and the
way the graves were laid out.
We do regret that there apparently is no way to determine the
exact grave site. It has been very exasperating to us that each time
we thought there was some place that had some record, then we' d find
out that the records had either been destroyed or not properly kept.
Rita probably felt the same way in her search. We want you to know
that we do appreciate all the effort that was put forth in this futile
search.
Please accept the enclosed check to defray some of the expenses
that were incurred in the cemetery project.
We would also like to express our regrets that the people of
Weld County chose not to retain you as their commissioner. It will
be their great loss, for if a person in your position could take the
time and the effort to extend his help and understanding to unknown
individuals in a plight such as ours, you have to be a tremendous
asset to the community.
Our heartfelt thanks and best of luck to you in the future.
Sincerely,
Bill & Betty Spencer
