RE: RATIFICATION OF APPOINTMENTS OF LUCILE ARNUSCH,JACQUELINE MASLOWE,
AND BRIAN LARSON TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR HIGH PLAINS LIBRARY
DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the High Plains Library District has been created by the action of six (6)
municipalities, Weld County School District RE-8, and the County of Weld, all in the State of
Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 24-90-110(4)(a), C.R.S., the selection committee for the
High Plains Library District Board of Trustees has been appointed and has recommended that Lucile
Arnusch be appointed to the High Plains Library District Board of Trustees, as the Area 2
representative; that Jacqueline Maslowe be appointed as the Area 3 representative; and that Brian
Larson be appointed as the Area 4 representative, all with a term to expire December 31,2016,and
WHEREAS, said individuals appear to be qualified to serve as members of the Board of
Trustees and represent adequately the various interests within the High Plains Library District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado,that the appointments of Lucile Arnusch, Jacqueline Maslowe, and Brian Larson,
to the High Plains Library District Board of Trustees be, and hereby are, ratified.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 24th day of October, A.D., 2011.

Dear Chairman Kirkmeyer:
In accordance with the state law, a Nominating Committee composed of one member from
each creating jurisdiction must select library district board members; and then each jurisdiction
must ratify the selection by resolution. This year Lucile Arnusch of Keenesburg was
nominated to represent Area 2 — Gilcrest, Hudson, Keenesburg, LaSalle, Lochbuie, Platteville,
and Fort Lupton; Jacqueline Maslowe of Johnstown was nominated to represent Area 3 -
Mead, Johnstown, Milliken, and Berthoud; and Brian Larson was nominated to represent Area
4 — Greeley, Evans and Garden City. They will each serve a five-year term on the High
Plains Library District Board of Trustees beginning January 1, 2012.
Since it is necessary for all member jurisdictions to ratify the nomination of the committee, a
sample resolution is provided. You are encouraged to consider the resolution as soon as
possible so the Library District is not without full representation on the Board. A copy of your
resolution should be sent to me at the High Plains Library District, 2650 W 29th Street, Greeley,
CO, 80631, once acted upon by your Board. Any governmental unit which does not respond
to the request to ratify within sixty (60) days is deemed to have assented to the appointment of
the nominee.
