RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR
CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF THE CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER
CONSTRUCTION AT NEW ADMINISTRATION BUILDING BID - DEPARTMENT OF
PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting
period for the Concrete Curb and Gutter Construction at the New Administration Building Bid for
the Department of Public Works, Bid Request No. B1100083, due to construction being
scheduled to commence May 31, 2011, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-
day waiting period for said bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for the Concrete Curb and Gutter
Construction at the New Administration Building Bid for the Department of Public Works, Bid
Request No. B1100083 be, and hereby is, waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bid from Northstar Concrete,
Inc., in the amount of$36,391.25, be, and hereby is, accepted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 25th day of May, A.D., 2011.

Concrete Work for Parking Lot Project
Bids were received and opened on May 20, 2011 for concrete work for the Concrete Work for Parking
Lot Project. Five Fax Quote bids were received for the project and amounts ranged from $36,391.25 to
$57,777.00 with the lowest bid submitted by Northstar Concrete, Inc from Loveland, Colorado.
The concrete work will include curb and gutter, gutter pans and flatwork at the new Board of County
Commissioner building parking lot, at 1450 N. I2`h Avenue.
It is my recommendation to award the project to Northstar Concrete, Inc for a total amount of$36,391.25.
This contractor has completed similar work in the past. Construction of the project is anticipated to begin
on May 31, 2011 with completion of the project June 14, 2011.
Due to the urgency of this project the Public Works Department is requesting these Bids be presented to
the Board of County Commissioners, and the low Bid be approved by the Board of County
Commissioners at the Wednesday May 25, 2011.
