Representatives from the equipment companies felt that the pre-bid
meeting was invalid if future bidding was handled as it had been
in this case. They felt that all companies should be asked to
submit the same type of information to the County. A major point
of contention was that the successful bidder had presented
information to the County about the competitors' machines which
the competitors felt was totally invalid.
County officials said that there was no attempt to be unfair. They
said however, that the bidding procedures should be further itemized
so an agreeable parameter is reached by all parties involved.
Following a lengthy discussion, Floyd Oliver made a motion that the
meeting be adjourned. Hearing no objections, Mr. Martin adjourned
the meeting.
Respectfully submitted,
Beverly Thomas y
