Dear Sheriff Bower: IM Typically the ACLU gets in touch with the local sheriff's office to investigate complaints. As h4man beings ourselves trying to get along in an imperfect world, we know that at times this must get tiresome for those on the receiving end. I / It is with pleasure, therefore, that this letter is concerned with strokes instead of zaps. We wish to make you aware that recent evaluations of your officers by released prisoners indicate that you have a fine professional staff and that's in the opinion of the prisoners who should know. In addition, one officer was singled out by one of the released prisoners as having outstanding qualities with respect to humanitarian treatment of prisoners and professional "cool." The officer named to us was Deputy Mike Metzger. We wish to congratulate Deputy Metzger and yourself for having such a fine officer on your staff. We will be watching the Board of Supervisors budget discussions with interest. We hope that the evening meal will receive more funding next year and will try to serve as a supportive force for professional norms as you present your budget. Your truly, Ford W. Cleere, Ph. d Chapter president, Weld County ACLU .`: 2616 21st ave. ILI Greeley, Colo. 80631 . .p rl V 6 77052o Hello
