RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF ROY RUDISILL AS DIRECTOR OF THE OFFICE OF
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Roy Rudisill has served as a Deputy Sheriff since October 1989,
participating in a variety of law enforcement capacities, including Criminal Investigation and
Community Resource Offices, and
WHEREAS, in September, 2005, Roy Rudisill was appointed by Sheriff John Cooke to
direct the Office of Emergency Management, and since such time he has been an active
member of the Colorado Emergency Managers Association, the Northeast Colorado Emergency
Managers Association, and Eastern Colorado Type 3 Incident Management Team. Mr. Rudisill
also serves on the Colorado Emergency Planning Commission, and Chairs the Northeast
Colorado Citizens Corps Council, Weld County Citizen Corps Council, and Weld County Local
Emergency Planning Committee, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to formally appoint Roy Rudisill as the
Director of the Office of Emergency Management.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that Roy Rudisill be, and hereby is, appointed as the Director of the
Office of Emergency Management, effective January 1, 2012.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 14th day of December, A.D., 2011.
