A petition was presented from Jonathan Huffer
asking for a rebate of taxes on Moneys,Notes and Credits erroneously assessed to him for
the years 1896,1897,1898 and 1899,and after carefully considering the same,it was,on mo-
tion,ordered that the prayer of the petitioner be ranted.
The following claims were presented,examined on motion allowed and warrants ordered
drawn on the Treasurer in payment of the several amounts allowed,viz:-

cinct officers,as required by law,and the sureties upon each bond being deemed ample
land sufficient they were,on motion,ordered approved.

It appearing to the Board that there is an overdraft in the
General County Fund to the amount of $6786.91 and there is a balance to the credit of the
Contingent Fund to the amount of $2316.75,a balance to the credit of the Interest Fund in
the sum of $1482.95 and a balance to the credit of the County Poll Fund in the sum of
$491.00.
It is on motion ordered that the County Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized an
directed to transfer to the General County Fund the respective balandes now to the credit
of the several funds above named for the purpose of reducing the overdraft now in the sai
General County Fund.
In the matter of petition of •The)
Pawnee Cattle Co for rebate. )
A petition was presented from The Pawnee Cattle
Co. asking for a rebate of 1899 taxes on 3500 head of cattle erroneously assessed to it
for the reason that said Company did not have any cattle in Weld County during that year;
that its cattle was assessed in Logan County and the taxes paid on the same in said Logan
County.
The Board after carefully investigating the matter and being reliably informed that
said company listed and paid taxes only on 700 cattle for the year 1899and believing, fro
reliable information obtained,that it owned and had in this county on May 1st. 1899 a larg
number of cattle upon which it should pay taxes on motion ordered that a rebate of the
taxes be granted to said company upon the 700 head of cattle assessed in Logan County,but
the balance of said assessment on its cattle to remain.

A communication was received and read from Mr.A. C. In-
gram denying that the county has any right or title to a road between Sections 19 & 30 T .
4 N.R.66 W. and giving his reasons therefor.
-, 0 After being fully advised in the premises by the County Attorney and believing that
the County has good right to said road the Clerk is directed to inform him of the County'
position in the matter and that said road must be opened without further delay and all o
structions must be removed therefrom at once.

The Board then commenced its sitting as a Board of Equalization for the pur-
pose of examining and equalizing the Assessments Rolls for the year 1900 as re-
quired by law.
The Board then adjourned to meet at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Friday July 6th. 1900.

' o ' ty road No. 142 as it runs through Section 26 and N.W.+ of Sec.35 Tp. 5 N.R.67 W. and
and also that portion of road No. 283 running through the centre of the S.W.4 of Sec
35 Tp.5 N.R.67 W. be vacated and abandoned,and if such is the case they wished to
enter a protest against the closing of said roads.
The following petitions for rebate of taxes were presented,examined and after
due consideration they were on motion ordered granted,viz:-

A petition was presented from Mrs.Emma Dickey
asking that certain taxes assessed against her for 1899 and previous years on Mon-
eys,notes and credits be rebated,and giving her reasons therefor.
After due consideration it was on motionordered that the prayer of the petitioner
be granted and that the County Treasurer receive the sum of $15.40 in full settle-
ment of said taxes.

of S.A.Dickey. )
A petition was presented from S.A. Dickey asking for a
rebate of certain taxes assessed against him for the year :1899 and previous years on Money ,
notes and credits,and giving his reasons therefor.
After due consideration it was on motion ordered that the prayer of the petitioner be
granted and that the County Treasurer receive the sum of 148.12 in full settlement of said
taxes.
The claim of H.J.Parish for Road and Bridge Work `, Dist. 2 amounting to 20.00
was presented,examined onmotion allowed and a warrant ordered drawn on the Treasurer for
its payment.
The Board then adjourned to meet at 9:00 o'clock A.M.Monday,July 9th. 1900.

be allowed on a valuation of $1900.00.

granted and that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept 048.10 in full settlement of
all taxes for said years on Moneys,Notes and Credits.
