I am writing to express my concern with the adverse ramifications of this possibility and have a vested interest in these actions as this location falls into my House District. I have been contacted by many constituents who live in this area that will be greatly affected by the possible negative outcome of this study. I respectfully request that several factors that are pertinent to this case receive careful deliberation during these proceedings. It is of upmost importance when considering this closure that the Commission is aware of the recent discovery of the Niobrara oil and gas formation in Northern Weld County. This finding is predicted to have a significant economic impact on the future of this district as drilling companies move into the area and housing needs increase. It has also been brought to my attention that according to the Commission, the closure of rural post offices would save the Postal Regulatory Commission 0.7% of its total operating budget. While I acknowledge the difficult economic state most agencies are experiencing this savings is not enough of a significant impact to the agency to legitimize abandoning the bond that it provides for the members of the community. I appreciate your time in reviewing this letter and appreciate the work that is being done to keep the U.S. Postal Service a viable operating entity. I support the continued operation of the New Raymer U.S. Post office as I have a deep concern for my constituents and the continuing economic success of the community we share. Sincerely, Jerry. nberg State Representative House District 65 Cc: Weld County Board of Commissioners mrv\uwCsak ovn I tl 2011-1259 Hello
