Home My WebLink About20112543.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT PROPOSAL - POWER EQUIPMENT COMPANY WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Proposal for Purchase of Equipment between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Public Works, and Power Equipment Company, commencing upon full execution, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said agreement, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said proposal, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Proposal for Purchase of Equipment between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Public Works, and Power Equipment Company be, and hereby is, approved. We have $ 205,000 budgeted for 2014. We have found a used machine (1200 hrs) that meets or exceeds all specifications for$174,000. We have been checking dealers to see if any of them have a used loader for our purchase. This has been our past practice and has resulted in substantial cost savings. We found a 2010 Volvo L110F Loader (we have 2 of them in our fleet now)for$174,000. The loader has approximately 1200 hours and is on warranty until 2014. I researched costs for loaders on a number of websites and present them as follows: 2008 Volvo L110E 1358 hours $ 169,500 as is 2006 Volvo L110E 3988 hours $ 149,000 as is 2008 Volvo L110F (no hrs avail) $ 226,000 as is 2010 Volvo L110F 447 hours $ 212,500 no warranty stated 2010 Volvo L110F no hrs avail $ 255,000 sources used were Used Machinery Mart, Rock and Dirt,Volvo Construction USA, and Machinery Trader. Based on our budgeted amount we would save $31,000. It also is doubtful that we would be able to purchase this type of machine for our budgeted amount. This would be funded out of our 2012 equipment budget.
