RE: AUTHORIZE WELD COUNTY TREASURER TO ESTABLISH WELD COUNTY
FEDERAL MINERAL LEASE ACT DISTRICT FUND
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, as a result of House Bill 11-1218, funds will be received from Federal
Mineral Leases to be used to mitigate the impact of oil and gas development on Federal land,
and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Federal Lease Act District has been created to receive
and distribute the Federal Mineral Leasing funds, and
WHEREAS, money received to fund the above effort must be accounted for via a trust
fund, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to establish said fund and grant
interest earned on investments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Weld County Treasurer be, and hereby is, authorized to
establish the Weld County Federal Mineral Lease Act District Fund 7900 for the benefit of the
Weld County Federal Mineral Lease Act District.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 22nd day of August, A.D., 2011.
