SUBJECT: B1100038 4X4 full size extended cab pickup
Bid was awarded to Stone Motors for the amount of$35,206. Once this was looked at further
the first 5 vendors do not meet specs. The bid stated GVW was to be 11,400. All of those bids were
for 11,200. In talking with Motor Pool project manager the recommendation is to stay with the
11,400 or higher. With the loads that are put on the truck the lower GVW causes various
maintenance problems.
Recommendation is to accept the 6th lowest bid from Transwest GMC Truck for a total cost of
$38,000. The GVW for this truck is 11,600.

SUBJECT: 4X4 Full-Size Ext Cab Diesel Pickup, B1100038
The Public Works Department recommends rejecting the low bid from Phil Long Ford of Denver and
awarding the bid to the second low bidder, Stone Motors. The lowest bid does not meet specs for the
radio or the tow package which includes only a Class 2 Hitch which is a passenger vehicle hitch. The bid
from Stone Motors goes beyond the specifications for the mirrors and includes factory side steps as
opposed to the nerf bars.
The base cost for one 4X4 full sized, extended cab diesel pickup is $35,206.00. The cost for Option #1
(Bug Shield) is $96.00; Option #2 (Mud Flaps, Front and Rear) is $75.00; Option #3 (Neff Bars) is $540.00
which is for factory side steps; Option #5 (L Shaped 100 Gallon Fuel Tank Mounted in Box with Electric
Pump) is $1,022.00 for a grand total of$36,939.00.
