RE: APPROVE CUSTOM PUBLICATION AGREEMENT FOR WELD COUNTY 150TH
ANNIVERSARY AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - NORTHERN COLORADO
BUSINESS REPORT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Custom Publication Agreement for
Weld County 150th Anniversary between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through
the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, and the Northern Colorado Business
Report, commencing upon full execution, with further terms and conditions being as stated in
said agreement, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said agreement, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Custom Publication Agreement for Weld County 150th
Anniversary between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of
County Commissioners of Weld County, and the Northern Colorado Business Report be, and
hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said agreement.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 28th day of February, A.D., 2011.

Weld County 150`" Anniversary
Custom Publication Agreement
Project Mission:
Our goal is to help celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Weld County through either a
newsprint magazine with a glossy cover or a magazine printed entirely on glossy
paper. Content could include a historical time-line, stories focusing on the growth of
business in Weld County from a strictly agrarian economy to one with diversity that
includes education, manufacturing, green technology and much more.
The custom publication will insert into the Northern Colorado Business Report
reaching community business leaders. As a well-respected news organization you
can be assured that the publication will be accurate, informative and well
conceived.
You will also receive additional copies to be used for distribution to the public
county employees.
In addition the publication will be available online in an interactive digital format,
reaching almost 36,000 site visitors through ncbr.com. It will also be made
available to the county to post on its site.
Proposed Date of Publication: Friday, October 7, 2011
Publication Specs Proposed:
Saddle-stitched 8.5" X 11" magazine on 701b glossy stock with full color on each
page

NCBR Responsibility
The NCBR custom publishing team will work to provide a turnkey approach to the
creation of the publication. We will work hand in hand with the 150th Anniversary
Committee to outline and prioritize editorial content, layout design and photo
collaboration. As the project coordinator, we will assign a graphic designer and
writer to the publication and work in coordination with the committee to produce
the publication with your full approval throughout the project timeline.

- A letter of introduction from the Board of Commissioners
- Timeline
- Historical photos and maps
- Stories about the economic growth of the county
- Interesting facts
- County Icons: People or places
- Description of Weld County cities and towns with contact information, brief
history and some census information
- What makes Weld County a "great place to live and work"
- What the next 25 years hold?

If sold ads are not cameras ready, NCBR contracted graphic artists will build the
ads and supply proofs to the advertisers. Cost will be $85 per ad with two proofs.
How It Works

The NCBR staff would sell advertising to companies and organizations. Your upfront
cost would be $7,000. Once a goal of $38,400 in ad sales is met Weld County will
receive a rebate of 15% on all ad sales. The rebate is in place to encourage you to
help us sell ads into the section through email blasts and information on your web
site. You will receive 10,000 overrun to distribute as you choose.
Example:
Initial Weld County investment: $7,000
Advertising ad dollar target: $38,400
15% rebate if target met: $ 5,760
Your Final Investment: $1,240
Weld County Involvement
Provide contact names and contact information of vendors and others who you
would like to invite to participate in the Anniversary issue. Example could be a
contact at Leprino Foods or Vestas.
Provide print quality 150th Anniversary logo for use on sales materials and in the
magazine. Also, allow us access to photos, historical documents and other materials
that will provide accurate content for the magazine.
We would also ask that you write an introductory/endorsement letter for our sales
staff. They would use it when presenting to advertising prospects as an explanation
of our partnership.
Other Details
Advertising sales would start immediately upon your agreement, receipt of vendor
list and endorsement letter.
NCBR will provide a sales update every two weeks.
NCBR will bill advertisers upon publication.

Tue March 1, 2011 NCBR representatives meet with 150th Anniversary
Committee to discuss content, style and source for
photos and information. Input from Commissioners

not on vendor list to committee for approval

Friday March 25, 2011 Comments regarding cover and design from
committee to NCBR graphic artist
Mon March 28, 2011 NCBR starts sales process by emailing or calling
vendors and a list prepared and approved by
Committee.
