RE: ACTION OF THE BOARD CONCERNING REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING
TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 50 BETWEEN
COUNTY ROADS 53 AND 55 FOR FIVE (5) WORKING DAYS, FOR CULVERT
REPLACEMENT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close
to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, staff has requested the withdrawal of the request to close said road, due to
changes in the weather and the subsequent redistribution of road crews from working on culvert
replacements, to being utilized for snow maintenance, and the Board has approved staff's
request for withdrawal and referred this matter back to the Department of Public Works, in order
for staff to determine a more appropriate time to complete the culvert replacement project and
close said road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, deems it appropriate to accept staffs withdrawal of the request to close
County Road 50, between County Roads 53 and 55, and to refer the matter back to the
Department of Public Works, in order for staff to determine a more appropriate time to complete
the culvert replacement project and close said road.

by the following vote on the 10th day of January, A.D., 2011.
