Hi Monica:
Below is the email from Ritchie Brothers where they affirm their desire to continue with our agreement. Since August
2012 I have made numerous attempts to get them to send me a letter affirming their desire to continue with our self
renewing agreement so I could then bring this to the BOCC. However they were unresponsive. We were finally able to
get them to send us the email below. They are aware that the contract price is the new rate of$53.00.
Since we are already into 2013, please let me know what is the best way to proceed. I can request that it placed in the
consent agenda or schedule a work session. Please let me know.

RESOLUTION
RE: APPROVE REQUEST FOR AUTOMATIC RENEWAL OF LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE
AGREEMENT- RITCHIE BROTHERS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Board has been presented with a Request to Automatically Renew the Law
Enforcement Service Agreement between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through
the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County Sheriff's Office,
and Ritchie Brothers, commencing January 1, 2012, and ending December 31, 2012, with further
terms and conditions being as stated in said letter of request, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve the request to
automatically renew said agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Request to Automatically Renew the Law Enforcement Service
Agreement between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County Sheriff's Office,and Ritchie Brothers
be, and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 21st day of December, A.D., 2011.

RE: Law Enforcement Service Agreement continuation with Ritchie Brothers
Commissioners:
The 2009 Law Enforcement Service Agreement with Ritchie Brothers can be renewed
automatically on a year by year basis unless sooner terminated by either party.
For 2012 Ritchie Brothers has indicated their desire to continue with the current agreement.
Services to Ritchie Brothers are provided only when requested.
The Sheriff's Office recommends continuing with this agreement. The charge for services is based
on the previously approved cost recovery hourly rate of$ 51.00 per hour.

Subject Law Enforcement Service Agreement
Dear Mr.Thompson:
The self renewing law enforcement service agreement between Weld County and Ritchie Brothers was signed in 2009.
Earlier this year the Board of County Commissioners requested that all agreements be brought up in the consent agenda so they can
re-affirm their desire to continue with the agreement.
Please send me a letter or e-mail re-affirming Ritchie Brother's desire to continue with the 2009 self renewing agreement for the
year 2012. The contract rate for 2012 will remain at$51.00 per hour. For reference I am attaching a copy of the 2009 agreement.
