OPEN PIT GRAVEL MINING (DRY MINING) IN THE A (AGRICULTURAL) ZONE
DISTRICT-TIM D. AND JEANNE IVERSON, C/O LAFARGE WEST, INC.
A public hearing was conducted on July 27, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., with the following present:
Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer, Chair- EXCUSED
Commissioner Sean P. Conway, Pro-Tem
Commissioner William F. Garcia
Commissioner David E. Long - EXCUSED
Commissioner Douglas Rademacher
Also present:

Planning Department representative, Chris Gathman
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated June 17, 2011, and duly published June 22,
2011, in the Fort Lupton Press, a public hearing was conducted to consider the request of
Tim and Jeanne Iverson, c/o LaFarge West, Inc., for a Site Specific Development Plan and Use
by Special Review Permit #1779 for a Mineral Resource Development Facility, including Open
Pit Gravel Mining (dry mining) in the A (Agricultural) Zone District. Bruce Barker, County
Attorney, made this a matter of record.
Chris Gathman, Department of Planning Services, stated the applicant has requested a
continuance of this matter to August 10, 2011, to allow for a hearing before a full quorum of the
Board.
No public testimony was offered concerning this matter. In response to Commissioner
Rademacher, Mr. Gathman confirmed this is the first continuance. Mr. Barker added he spoke
with the applicant and they are also working to complete a Recorded Exemption on the
applicant's personal residence. In response to Mr. Gathman, Mr. Barker stated as long as the
application is in process, a continuance will not create a problem with the legal notice since it
will be removing property from the USR boundary.
Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve the request of Tim and Jeanne Iverson, c/o
LaFarge West, Inc., for a continuance of Site Specific Development Plan and Use by Special
Review Permit #1779 for a Mineral Resource Development Facility, including Open Pit Gravel
Mining (dry mining) in the A (Agricultural) Zone District, to August 10, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. The
motion was seconded by Commissioner Garcia, and it carried unanimously. There being no
further discussion, the hearing was completed at 10:10 a.m.
