LAND-FOR-LAND EXCHANGE
NOTICE is hereby provided that the State Board of Land Commissioners
("Board") has authorized the initiation of a land-for-land exchange of 640 acres of state
trust land described as 36-4N-61W, 6th P.M., Weld County, for 160 acres of private land
described as 36-7N-59W; SW, 6th P.M., Weld County, and $156,000 cash to balance
the transaction.
The publication of this Notice on October 7, 2011 begins a public notice period
during which written comments and alternate exchange proposals may be submitted to
the Board. To be considered, alternate proposals and comments must be received by
4:30 p.m. on November 1, 2011, by The State Board of Land Commissioners, North
Central District Office, 360 Oak Avenue, Suite 110, Eaton, CO 80615.
Comments on the proposed exchange must be clearly marked "Comments on the
Empire Reservoir Exchange". Comments may be mailed or faxed to (970) 454-5426.
Alternate exchange proposals must be submitted on the Board's Application for
Acquisition of State Trust Land with a $100 non-refundable fee, clearly marked
"Alternate Proposal for the Empire Reservoir Exchange". Alternate proposals received
via facsimile or electronic mail will not be considered.
The Board will decide whether to proceed with a particular proposal or reject the
exchange at a Board Meeting, open to the public, tentatively scheduled to be held
December 2, 2011.
The successful applicant will be required to cooperate with the Board in
complying with the mandates of CRS § 36-1-118(4)(a) and (b) and § 36-1-119.
