RE: DECLARE CERTAIN EQUIPMENT AS SURPLUS PROPERTY, APPROVE SALE OF
SAME TO GENTECH SCIENTIFIC, INC., AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN ALL
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, State statute and the Weld County Code require that all items disposed of be
declared surplus by the Board of County Commissioners, and
WHEREAS,the County has determined that certain equipment, as described in Exibit"A", a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, is no longer required for
County use, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a request from Gentech Scientific, Inc., to
purchase said equipment for the sum of$3,800.00, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said request, marked
Exhibit "A", for the sale of said equipment, and declare said equipment as surplus.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that certain equipment, as described in Exhibit"A,"be, and hereby is, declared as
surplus.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the request for the sale of said equipment to
Gentech Scientific, Inc., be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized to
sign all necessary documents.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 9th day of May, A.D., 2011.

Subject: Sale of equipment
When Health Department has water leak in the building the spectrometer was damaged. The original cost
55738.50, we have submitted this to insurance but we can also sell the old machine.
We solicited bids from vendors that would have need for this type of equipment and the high bid came back from
Gentech Scientific for 3800.00. We are requesting approval to sell the spectrometer to then for this price.
