re: IGA for Payment of Bonus Amounts for Certain Reported Oil and Gas Employees
Dear Mr. Barker:
This letter is provided in response to your letter of January 28, 2011 regarding Firestone's
participation in the IGA. This matter was discussed by the Firestone Board of Trustees over the
course of two meetings. The Town is very much supportive of the efforts of the Weld County
Commissioners in ensuring that State of Colorado is accurately reporting the number the oil and gas
industry employees in Weld County. As Weld County taxpayers, all of the citizens of Firestone
appreciate any efforts to ensure that the State is returning the correct amount of severance tax and
lease revenues to local governments to help us offset the impact of this industry on basic services.
As I am sure you are aware, the current economic conditions make any unbudgeted expenditures
very difficult to approve. Thank you for asking for our participation but at this time we must decline.
Sincerely,
Wesle aVanchy
