Keenesburg Strip Mine (Permit No. C-1981-028)
Dear Weld County Commissioners:
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety renewed Mining Permit No. C-1981-028 for
the Keenesburg Strip Mine on October 17, 2011, allowing coal mining and reclamation operations to
continue under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The
permit was issued to Coors Energy Company, P.O. Box 467, Golden, CO 80402, (303) 277-3455, for
their mining operation located in Weld County, approximately 7 miles North of Keenesburg,Colorado.
Copies of the permit are available at the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567.
