RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 34 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 49 AND 53 FOR
TWENTY (20) WORKING DAYS, FOR INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close
to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and
personal investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to
temporarily close to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on said
County roads by posting signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on
County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of
such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide
traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall
conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 34, between County Roads 49 and 53,
be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective November 3, 2011, for approximately
twenty (20) working days, in order for GLH, Inc., to complete intersection improvements, and
further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice
of the restrictions.

by the following vote on the 2nd day of November, A.D., 2011.

SUBJECT: Agenda Item/Road Closure
GLH Inc., is requesting to close WCR 34 between WCR 49 and WCR 53 from November 3,2011,
to November 30, 2011. The closure is for road and intersection improvements required for the
Lonestar Disposal Facility.
WCR 34(asphalt surface, ADT 280 on July 29, 2011).
All residents and local business will be notified of closure and will be given access as needed during
the project.
Detour roads will have magchloride applied for dust control purposes.
