Power Equipment was the lowest bidder for Volvo Motor Graders. Due to higher repair and preventative maintenance costs per hour of operation for Volvo graders, the return of the initial investment will be recouped in approximately one-third of the service life of a John Deere grader. The base price of all three machines is $184,900 each. We would like the following options on all three machines: Option B (GPS/Deluxe) is included in the base price; Option C (Removable Front Fenders) is $3,585; Option D (Removable Rear Fenders) is $6,750; Option F (Auto Shift Trans) is included in the base price; Option I (5 Yr/7500 Hour Extended Power Train Warranty) is $23,649; Option K (Spare Tire and Wheel) is $10,500. The cost for three John Deere motor graders from Colorado Machinery with the above options is $199,728 each or $599,184 for three machines. In comparison, the cost for three Volvo motor graders from Power Equipment with the above options is $192,965 each or$578,895 for three machines. There is $660,000 budgeted for this purchase.
