NOTICE is hereby provided that the State Board of Land Commissioners cBcalkAl,c5 A ' 5b
authorized the initiation of a non-simultaneous exchange of land pursuant to Article IX, § 9 of
the Colorado Constitution and § 36-1-124.5, CRS for the following parcel of state trust IRE C E I V E D
located in Weld County, Colorado:
TOWNSHIP 3 North - RANGE 68 West, 6th Principal Meridian.
N/E '/< of SECTION 16
containing in all 4.213 acres, more or less fully described below.
THAT CERTAIN PORTION OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 16, TOWNSHIP 3 NORTH.
RANGE 68 WEST,6TH PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN THE COUNTY OF WELD, STATE OF COLORADO,
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS.
COMMENCING AT THE EAST QUARTER CORNER OF SAID SECTION 16:
THENCE ALONG THE SOUTHERLY LINE OF SAID NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 16.SOUTH

FEET TO A LINE THAT IS PARALLEL WITH AND DISTANT 30.00 FEET WESTERLY, MEASURED AT
RIGHT ANGLES, FROM THE EASTERLY LINE OF SAID NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 16:
THENCE ALONG SAID PARALLEL LINE,SOUTH 00"51'42"EAST,370.86 FEET TO A LINE THAT
BEARS NORTH 89"08'18"EAST,AND PASSES THROUGH THE POINT OF BEGINNING,
THENCE DEPARTING SAID PARALLEL LINE,SOUTH 89'08'18"WEST, 567.33 FEET TO THE POINT
OF BEGINNING.
CONTAINS 183,531 SO. FT. OR 4.213 ACRES, MORE OR LESS.
The surface rights only of the above-described parcel are proposed to be conveyed by Patent
for cash that will be deposited with the State Treasurer for the Board to acquire replacement
property it identifies at a future date. All mineral rights, geothermal rights, and all water rights, if
any, are reserved. Any non-tributary groundwater is reserved.
The minimum acceptable bid for this parcel is three hundred and twenty one thousand
dollars and no one hundreds ($ 321,000.00). The acquisition and closing is contingent on the
bidder preparing a subdivision map in order to create two distinct lots and blocks, one being the
parcel more particularly described above, from the parcel known as 120716100061 in the Weld
County Assessor records as 23.34 acres.
The publication of this Notice on June 18, 2012 begins a notice and public bid period
during which written comments and sealed bids may be submitted to the Board. To be
considered, comments and/or sealed bids must be received by 1 p.m. on July 13, 2012, by Julie
Majors, 1127 Sherman Street, Ste 300, Denver, CO 80203.
Comments on the proposed exchange must be clearly marked "Comments on the Mead
4.213 Exchange". Comments may be mailed or faxed to 303-866-3377 or 303-866-3152. No bids
should be faxed.

Sealed bids must be submitted on the Board's Application for Acquisition of State Trust
Land. An application may be obtained by contacting Julie Majors at(303)866-3454,ext 3336
or by accessing the State Land Board's web site at trustlands.state.co.us and reviewing the
News and Notices section. The application must be submitted with a$100 non-refundable fee.
The applicant's address,phone number,fax number,and e-mail address(if applicable),and the
words"Sealed Bid for the Mead 4.213 acres Exchange"must be clearly marked on the outside
of the sealed envelope. Sealed bids received via facsimile or electronic mail will not be
considered.
Board staff will open the sealed bids at 1:00 p.m.on July 13,2012,at the offices of the
Board, 1127 Sherman Street,Ste 300,Denver,CO 80203,to verify that the bids received meet
the minimum requirements. Bid amounts will not be disclosed at the bid opening. This
information will remain confidential until it is presented to the Board in open session at a Board
meeting,tentatively scheduled to be held on August 3;2012 in Steamboat,Colorado. If the
Board decides to proceed with the exchange,the Board will select and approve a bid at the Board
meeting. Participation in the bidding process does not create any rights for the winning bidder or
anyone else participating in the bidding process.
The successful applicant will be required to cooperate with the Board in complying with
the mandates of §36-1-118(4)(a)and(b)and§36-1-119.
