We have had problems with these ladies since they moved onto their property in 2008. Their dogs chase our cattle in our pasture and they bark all the time. They bark at us when we are working on the fence or whatever needs doing. Shirley told us that if we are out working on our fence her dogs are going to bark at us. Does that explanation make it right? These ladies have 15 to 17 dogs already that they cannot control. What's it going to be like when they have 40 more. • The next problem is the traffic this kennel is going to cause. This is in addition to the oil company traffic and if the race track is approved, traffic coming and going to the race track. When the race track people had their event back in March, we had bumper to bumper traffic on Rd. 55 from Rd. 20 to Rd. 18. The devaluation of our property is our biggest concern. We hoped to sell our farm at some point in time to provide funds for our retirement. Now, the problem is, who would want to buy a property that is next door to a 40-dog rescue kennel that brings in every kind of dog: barkers, mistreated dogs that are mean, pit bulls, etc. Then, if your board approves the race track, we're sunk. This area will be completely uninhabitable as a peace and quiet, country farm. Part of our livelihood is cows, and this intended facility could destroy this source of income. Their dogs come over in our pasture chasing the cows because they are let out of their fenced in compound. One day their dog chased a cow that was ready to calve. It's a wonder the cow didn't drop over dead from being pregnant and running so hard. If the cow had died along with her calf, that would have cost us $1500 to $2000. The future proceeds from the calf would be another $1000 (approx). We have coyotes in the area because a draw goes across our property from east to west, and also on the north of the neighbor's property. This draw is a perfect place for the coyotes. When they get to howling, the dogs get to barking. Flow do you stop this sort of thing and can you imagine multiplying this times 40? • • I guess my biggest question is, why are these ladies' rights more important than our right to peace and quiet, our right to raise our cattle without being afraid of their dogs, our right to expect our property to remain a valuable piece of agricultural property, and our right to expect the road in front of our house not be a thoroughfare for the dog kennel, oil company, and the race track. Sincerely, Bonnie & Robin McIntosh 303-732-4137 • • Kim Ogle rom: Denelle West ldwestknsbrg@yahoo.00ml dint Tuesday,November 27,2012 739 PM Kim Ogle Subject: USR12-0060 Dog Rescue Kennel To: Kim Ogle, Weld County Planner Re: USR12-0060 Dear Kim, I would like it to be known that we firmly object to this Dog Rescue and Boarding Kennel in our neighborhood. We are animal lovers but this is not the location for a dog rescue kennel. As we all know dogs have very different personalities but rescued dogs that have been abused or abandoned will be unpredictable. There are many Horses, Cows, Goats, Alpacas, Chickens, Cats, Dogs and other animals in the proposed surrounding area. If an aggressive dog gets out it will be a bad situation. They will roam and will come in contact with our animals and it is very likely that they will chase the Horses and Cows and if they chase them through a fence it could be a deadly or costly situation to the owner. I personally have horses, cows, dogs and cats and do not want to experience what could happen when one of these dogs get loose and come onto my property. Wis one thing to have pets but to put us in this situation is unfair and not good for this ighborhood. Again let it be known that we firmly object to the dog kennel case SUSR12-0060.
