RE: TRANSFER OF WELFARE FRAUD INVESTIGATION FROM DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S
OFFICE TO WELD COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, discussions have been held with the District Attorney,
Director of Social Services and Director of Finance and Adminis-
tration regarding the transfer of the welfare fraud investigation
function from the District Attorney' s Office to the Weld County
Social Services Department, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, deems it advisable and in the best interest of Weld
County to affect the above transfer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the Director of Social
Services is directed to proceed with the Colorado State Department
of Social Services in getting authorization for two (2) full-time
equivalents for welfare fraud investigators in the merit system, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that if the above is
approved by the Colorado State Department of Social Services that
the Director of Social Services and District Attorney shall affect
the transition of this function and personnel from the District
Attorney' s Office to the Social Services Department during fiscal
year 1979.
The above and foregoing Resolution was., on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following, vote on the 8th day of
January, A.D. , 1979.
