This caseload is expected to increase at least through March. The Food Stamp par- ticipation decreased with 51 fewer families buying Food Stamps in February. Overall the public assistance caseload still reflects stability. The number of cases and people qualifying for assistance remains below the February, 1976 level . While public assistance caseloads in general reflect stability, the Department is experiencing an increasing load for Social Service staff. This is most noticeable in cases involving adolescents who are beyond the control of parents and are referred to the Department by the courts, other agencies, and by parents . For example, our staff of 8 youth workers dealt with 31 additional cases during February for a total of 211 served by this unit. 770589 3-10-77 3-10-77 3/21/77 Hello
