REMARKS: Public Assistance and Food Stamp caseloads remained stable compared with the
pri ro mmonth, and down slightly compared with the prior year. The Aid to Dependent
Children load decreased by 13 households compared with May while Food Stamp participation
remained practically the same compared with the prior month.
Medicaid nursing home cases continue to show a gradual increase with 586 individuals
receiving care in June compared with 556 in 1977. Other public assistance caseloads
did not show remarkable change.
Expenditures for June (excluding Old Age Pension) were $537,224. This amount was $41,114
less than the previous month but $36,601 higher than the sane month in 1977. Department
h spending remains within budget with 48.1% expended compared with the 50% "on-target" rate.
