SUBJECT: Pull Broom Sweeper, B1200022
The Public Works Department recommends awarding the bid to MacDonald Equipment Co. The lowest bid
from OJ Watson is for a gasoline engine. A diesel engine is preferred due to the reliability and engine
longevity. Adding the cost of the upgrade to a diesel engine with OJ Watson would then make them the
second low bidder at$25,159.00. The bid from MacDonald Equipment for one Pull Broom Sweeper in the
amount of$23,206 includes a diesel engine. The service manual is available on-line at no additional cost.
There is $ 30,000 budgeted for this purchase. If you have any questions, please call me at extension 3768.
