Home My WebLink About20120014.tiff RESOLUTION RE: ESTABLISHMENT OF CERTAIN VOTING PRECINCTS FOR THE 2012 PARTISAN ELECTION WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, as a result of the most recent decennial census, the electoral maps have been altered statewide, including Weld County, and the alterations have in some instances divided existing Weld County voting precincts, and WHEREAS, Section 1-5-101(1), C.R.S., permits the Weld County Clerk and Recorder to establish election precincts for the convenience of eligible electors in partisan elections subject to the approval of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, and WHEREAS, to address the division of certain precincts resulting from the reapportionment and redistricting processes, the Weld County Clerk and Recorder is seeking the approval of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County for the establishment of new precincts, consistent with the reapportionment and redistricting alterations to the electoral maps, for the convenience of eligible electors in the 2012 partisan election, and WHEREAS, the proposed precincts are more fully described in the document attached hereto as Exhibit A and the map attached hereto as Exhibit B, and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1-5-101(3), C.R.S., and subject to the approval of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, the Weld County Clerk and Recorder is seeking to establish certain voting precincts containing up to two thousand active eligible electors as described in Exhibit A and Exhibit B attached hereto, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County deems it advisable for the convenience of the eligible electors to approve the establishment of the precincts proposed by the Weld County Clerk and Recorder and described in Exhibit A and Exhibit B attached hereto. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the voting precincts described in Exhibit A and Exhibit B attached hereto, be, and hereby are, approved for the 2012 partisan election.
