RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, pursuant to law, the Board of County Commissioners,
Weld County, Colorado, is vested with the responsibility of administering
the affairs of Weld County, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, heretofore by Resolution dated April 24, 1974, the Board
initiated construction of a new County Services Building for Weld County; and
WHEREAS, the said County Services Building is ready for occupancy
by the various governmental and administrative units of Weld County; and
WHEREAS, the Board , after much study and deliberation determined
that an appropriate name should be chosen for the new Weld County Services
Building and pursuant to said determination the Board caused a contest to be
held between the students of the various high schools in Weld County for the
selection of an appropriate name for said building; and
WHEREAS, the name contributions were submitted accordingly and
received by the Board, and the Board reviewed all said name submissions;
and
WHEREAS, the Board, having reviewed all said names, believes it to
be in the best interests of the County to choose the name "WELD COUNTY
CENTENNIAL CENTER" in view of the Center being dedicated in conjunction
with observance of the 1976 centennial/bi-centennial year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Com-
missioners, Weld County, Colorado, that the new Weld County Services
Building shall be designated, " WELD COUNTY CENTENNIAL CENTER",
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the name, " WELD COUNTY
CENTENNIAL CENTER" be inscribed on an appropriate plaque together with
the names of the county officials and others responsible for the construction
of said building and that said plaque shall be affixed to the building for dedi-
cation to be held on July 3, 1976.
The above and foregoing motion was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 14th day of June, AM. ,, 1976.
