HomeMy WebLinkAbout20120616.tiff THE WELD COUNTY REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS ADVISORY BOARD TUESDAY, February 24th, 2011, 10:30 AM PUBLIC WORKS CONFERENCE ROOM 1111 H Street The Weld County Regional Communications Advisory Board met in session in on Tuesday, February 24th, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Public Works Conference Room. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Sean Conway. Present were board members Sean Conway, Dave Bressler, Carl Harvey, Roger Ainsworth, Jay McDonald, Ken Poncelow, Mark Lawley, Hugh Kane, Jack Statler, Robert Standen, Duane McDonald, Phil Tiffany. Staff members present were Mike Savage, Anita Scrams, Dave Mathis, and Susan Johnson. Other present included Blake Abercrombie, Barbara Kirkmeyer, Roy Rudisill and Mark Stafford (Weld County Office of Emergency Management). MINUTES: Mark Lawley moved Carl Harvey seconded a motion to approve the minutes of the E- 911/Communications Advisory Board combined meeting. Motion carried unanimously. NEW MEMBERS Jay McDonald moved, Carl Harvey seconded a motion to approve the following as new members of the Communications Advisory Board:: David Montgomery—Police Zone 4 Rick Brandt—reappoint as Police Chief for cost sharing IGA municipalities Rich Strang—Police Zone 1 Roger Ainsworth— WCSO Ken Poncelow—reappoint as Ft Lupton Police Department Jack Statler— Greeley PD Motion carried unanimously. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Staff Report: Dave Mathis presented the 2011 year end report [refer to Sgt. Mathis' December 2011 WCRCC Monthly Report]. • EMD calls were up from 2010 to 2011 • Law calls for service were down 4.03%; combined fire/EMS calls for service were up 16.18% from 2010 to 2011 The increase in the number of fire calls is being evaluated. Mountain View Fire joined WCRCC in July, which may account for part of the increase. Greeley Fire is the biggest fire agency in Weld County and their call load was up 14% in 2011. • 1 trainee was recently terminated, 4 others in training with one struggling • Anticipate filling the supervisor vacancy soon • Ft Collins is doing another hiring process, at least 2 WCRCC dispatchers have applied. One of the four WCRCC dispatchers who left for Ft Collins last spring is returning. • Final Spillman dispatch training group will be training next week. 2. Tri Town Tower update: Per Anita the temporary equipment to boost the Tri town tower has been installed and is being tested. 3. Spillman Update: Blake reported on each area of Spillman, each either finished or being tested. ACS will set up an EOC help center with projected screens to assist in oTe)/�7 2012-0616 the transition on go live day. Spillman will have 11 individuals on site for go live. Spillman desktop is being developed to allow non MDT units to view information. Fire agencies will 4. Back up Center: Per Mike Savage, the project is on schedule. The furniture has been ordered, power issues have been resolved. The phone switch is being evaluated —depending on future use of the center—the issue is that currently non-911 phones do not ring into the back-up center, only 911 phone calls are re-directed. Susan Quick, Motorola and Cassidian will report back on this issue. NEW BUSINESS 1.
