Re: Organizational Restructuring
Dear Sirs:
The Utilities Coordinating Advisory Committee has Given study to current
organizational structure and has determined there may be some areas of
deficiency. The first of these areas is addressed in the attached
resolution. The second, discussed below, is an area the "Committee"
wishes to present to the Board of County Commissioners for your study
and hopefully favorable consideration.
The resolution creating the Utilities Coordinating Advisory Committee
restricted membership to residents of Weld County. Weld County consists
of a large geographic area. Several private and public utilities serve
the County. It has come to the attention of the "Committee" that many
of the utilities have home offices located outside of Weld County although
they serve areas of the County.
The Utilities Coordinating Advisory Committee recommends that employees of
utilities who may be non-residents of Weld County should be able to
qualify as members. These individuals should be required, however, to be
employed by the division of the utility that serves the County and should be
familiar with the County.
As Chairman of the Utilities Coordinating Advisory Committee, I would be
most happy to meet with the Board of County Commissioners at your con-
venience to explain the "Committee's" position on the aforementioned
recommendations and answer any questions you may have.
