HomeMy WebLinkAbout20120663.tiff RESOLUTION RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF THE 2012 CHEMICAL HERBICIDES BID- DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, WEED AND PEST DIVISION WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting period for the 2012 Chemical Herbicides Bid for the Department of Public Works, Weed and Pest Division, Bid Request No. B1200065, due to the limited spraying season, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten- day waiting period for said bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for the 2012 Chemical Herbicides Bid for the Department of Public Works, Bid Request No. B1200065, be, and hereby is, waived. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the bids from Van Diest, in the amount of $8,713.10; CPS Timberland, in the amount of $1,413.50; and Simplot, in the amount of $4,824.00, be, and hereby are, accepted. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 12th day of March, A.D., 2012. The bids have been received and the low bidder that meets County specifications with priority placed on local vendors has been identified for each item. Over the year, local vendors have provided support by answering questions, checking on problems, providing education and assisting with local presentations and workshops over the years. I recommend we purchase the following chemicals at the prices shown from the low bid supplier identified below to start the spray season with. Additional orders will be placed as needed later in the summer and fall.
