Subject: Request to change name of internal road, Markham View Estates PUD
Dear Mr. Markham:
The Department of Planning Services is in receipt of an undated document requesting consideration
by Weld County to change the name of the internal road associated with the Markham View Estates
residential Planned Unit Development from the existing name, Hangis Court, to the proposed new
name Winterset Lane.
Section 27-8-40. Changes to a PUD Final Plan provides guidance for said modification, specifically
Section 27-8-40.6 and Section 27-8-40.C of the Weld County Code. The specific citations are as
follows:
Section 27-8-40.B. Minor Modifications.
The Department of Planning Services may approve a minor modification to a PUD final plan.
The applicant shall prove that the minor modification is required by engineering or other
circumstances not foreseen during the approval of the PUD final plan. The Department of
Planning Services shall not approve a minor modification if that modification does not conform
to the PUD Zone District.
Section 27-8-40. C. Applicability.
All proposed amendments and minor modifications to an approved PUD final plan shall be
subject to the procedures stated in this Chapter and current land use regulations. The PUD
Zone District shall be subject to the requirements contained in this Chapter, and in Chapter 23,
Articles IV and V, of this Code.
This office is in receipt of three letters from agencies who may be impacted by this request. The
Berthoud Post Office,the Berthoud Fire Protection and Ambulance Services Department and the
Weld County Sheriff's office have all indicated no conflict with their interests.

The Weld County Addressing representative has reviewed the request for change of internal road
name and has determined this requested amendment meets the requisite criteria for addressing and
naming nomenclature.
Given these findings, the Department of Planning Services requests the following documents:
Written evidence that you, Harvey Markham, have the authority to request the change of name for
the internal road affiliated with the Markham View Estates PUD; and, written evidence from all
owners of parcels within the PUD; and, an Amended Final Plat for PF-1077, prepared in accordance
with Section 27-9-20 of the Weld County Code.
Please submit three(3)24x36 inch paper copies of the Amended Final Plat for Markham View
Estates PUD for review and approval before preparing the mylar of the same drawing for signature
and recording. As this case was administratively approved by staff, the signature of the Director of
Planning Services will be required.
