Home My WebLink About20122371.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE STATEMENT OF SUPPORT FOR WELD PROJECT CONNECT WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, on October 14, 2011, Weld County had the opportunity to recognize the issues of poverty and homelessness and take positive action to provide a neighbor-to-neighbor solution. On that date, Weld Project Connect brought needed services from over 80 collaborating agencies and 600 volunteer neighbors to more than 1,100 of our neighbors in need, and WHEREAS, Upon the crest of this overwhelming success, United Way of Weld County, along with the City of Greeley, Weld County government and other collaborative partners, are excited to announce that Weld Project Conned 2012 is scheduled for September 28, 2012, at Island Grove Regional Park in Greeley, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Weld Project Connect will provide a one-day, one-place opportunity for those in crisis to receive tangible assistance in resolving their difficulties. Examples of available services are: resume writing and job bank information, loan counseling with bank officials, dental and vision screening, free legal counseling with local attorneys, flu shots, animal licenses, assistance payments counseling, and haircuts, and WHEREAS, Weld County residents are encouraged to answer the call to connect with their neighbors on September 28, 2012, and volunteer as a navigator at Weld Project Connect by signing up at www.weldproiectconnect.orq, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to display advertisements of this event, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Weld County Board of County Commissioners congratulates the many volunteers for their selfless giving to our most needy and encourage all who can to volunteer at Weld Project Conned on September 28, 2012.
